All GPST's based at ESNEFT have access to Colchester and Ipswich Hospital Libraries.

What we offer

We are here to support all GP trainees in a variety of ways:

Opening Times

Both Colchester and Ipswich library is available to all staff 24/7 and is staffed Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

Books and Journals

Our book and journal collections cover all aspects of healthcare and are supplemented by the book and journal collections of other NHS libraries in the East of England. Use the catalogue to search and request books from both the Trust and regional libraries. Search the Library catalogue here:

You must have an Athens account in order to access all of our electronic resources.

Having an NHS Athens username and password gives you the right to access the many and varied electronic resources such as e-books and e-journals made available to you by the NHS.

Evidence Searches

We can undertake evidence searches for you. Our librarians can search the healthcare databases to find you relevant, high quality information for patient care, complex conditions, audits and research projects. We find evidence-based information to support you.

Requests for a literature search can be submitted via our online catalogue or by contacting the Library.  Training is also available on a one-to-one basis or for small groups in evidence searching skills.

KnowledgeShare is a targeted current awareness service which provides you with personalised updates relevant to your professional interests on a regular basis. The alerts include resources such as guidelines and systematic reviews along with selected journals. You choose how frequently you would like to receive updates.
